What Questions Should I Ask a Fiber Internet Salesperson?

How to evaluate offers

A professional fiber rep should welcome your questions. Here are the ones that matter most before you agree to anything.

1. Is fiber actually available at my specific address?

Not just your street — your specific address. Availability can vary by building or unit. Ask them to run your address in their system and show you the result.

2. What is the total monthly cost after all fees?

Ask for the all-in price including: plan cost, equipment rental (if any), taxes, and any required autopay or paperless billing discounts. Get the number you'll actually see on your bill.

3. Is there a contract, and what are the early termination fees?

Some plans are month-to-month; others lock you in for 12–24 months. Know the termination fee before signing.

4. What happens to my price after any promotional period?

If the rate is promotional, ask what it increases to and exactly when. Get this in writing or in the order confirmation email.

5. What is the installation process and cost?

Is installation free? Does a technician need to come inside? How long does it take? What's the earliest available appointment?

6. Can I verify your credentials?

Any legitimate rep should be able to show you their dealer ID badge and the carrier's contact number so you can verify the offer independently.

7. What's the cancellation policy if I'm not satisfied?

Ask about the trial period, if any, and what recourse you have if installation doesn't go as promised.
